I've Created My Profile. What Next?

October 2026

Congratulations, your Greatjob profile is live. Customers near you can now find you in search. The providers who get booked quickest do a few simple things in their first week. Here they are, in order.

1. See your profile the way customers do

On My Profile, click Public Profile View. This is exactly what a customer sees. Check that:

  • your photo is clear and friendly (a real photo of you, not a logo, gets more bookings)
  • your About Me says what you do, where you work and why people can trust you. Stuck? The AI helper on My Profile will write a first draft for you to edit
  • your rate or prices are what you want to charge
  • you've added a few photos of your work

2. Share your link and QR code

Your profile has its own web page, with a link and a QR code you'll find on My Profile. Most of your first customers will come from people who already know you, so put them everywhere:

  • Facebook: a post on your own page, and in your local community groups (suburb groups, parents' groups, buy-swap-sell). Check each group's rules first, as many only allow business posts on certain days
  • Instagram and WhatsApp: share the link with friends, family and neighbours, and ask them to pass it on
  • Noticeboards: print the QR code on a simple flyer for cafés, libraries, community centres and local shops (ask first)
  • School, sport and club newsletters: many accept short notices from local families
  • Your phone and email: add the link to your email signature and text it to past customers

3. Let an AI tool write your posts

If writing isn't your thing, a free AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) can write a friendly post in seconds. Tell it what you do, where, and paste your Greatjob link. For example:

Write a short, friendly Facebook post for my local community group. I'm a [your service] in [your suburb], available [days]. Mention that people can see my reviews and book me through my Greatjob page: [your link]. Keep it under 80 words and don't over-promise.

Read it through before you post, and change anything that doesn't sound like you.

4. What happens when someone wants to book you

  • Hourly jobs: you get a text and an email with the job details. Reply Y to accept, or suggest another time. Reply quickly: customers often ask a few providers at once, so a fast reply helps you get chosen
  • Fixed price quotes: you get a text and an email with a link to the request. Open it, check the details, set your price (you can preview exactly what the customer sees) and press Send Quote before the deadline shown. We'll remind you halfway if you haven't replied
  • Once it's booked: the job appears in My Bookings with everything you need. On the day, start the job, and when you're done press Finish Job. Greatjob sends the invoice and collects the payment for you, so there's nothing to chase

5. Make your first jobs count

  • Turn up on time and keep the customer updated through Greatjob messages
  • After the job, ask happy customers to leave a review. A few good reviews make a big difference to new customers
  • Going away? Pause your profile on Manage Profiles so you don't get requests you can't take

One more tip: keep your profile fresh. New photos of recent work, an updated About Me and quick replies all help you appear trustworthy to someone who hasn't met you yet.
